About The Symposium
Founded in 1990 by Larry Weaner, this annual two-day symposium has a long tradition of celebrating native plants and innovative ecological practice. Presenters reflect the diverse factors that shape our landscapes including landscape architects, landscape designers, horticulturists, ecologists, historians, anthropologists, artists and others. The series offers in-depth explorations of forward-looking and overlooked topics, always seeking to connect theory with practical application. Join us as we continue to connect the dots between ecological restoration, cultural landscape practice, and fine garden design.

The easiest and greenest way to get to New London is by Amtrak. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from there.
The most convenient airport is Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, which is a 45-minute drive to the Holiday Inn listed above. Bradley International Airport is just north of Hartford, and the drive is about 1 hour 20 minutes. More direct flights and a train option are available through Boston Logan International Airport, and the drive is about 2 hours.
